`Sorry' won't heal Australia's wounds
Article Abstract:
The plan of Australian Prime Minister John Howard to issue an apology to the indigenous people for the atrocities committed by past governments needs careful consideration in terms of its long-term impact. The issue was brought about by the apology conveyed by the Canadian government to its own indigenous communities. Issuing an apology for a mistake that was not personally committed might debase the public moral language.

Despite the government's efforts to block antiracism legislation, 136 pages of Hong Kong's latest report under the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination was dedicated to refuting possible racial discrimination to the international community.
